IRONMAN 70.3 Brasilia Returns To The Global Circuit In 2025

Thursday 14 November 2024

IRONMAN and Unlimited Sports have announced that IRONMAN® 70.3® racing will return to the Central Plateau next year. The Federal Capital and Brazil’s capital city will once host the Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Brasília triathlon on April 13, 2025, with the start and finish taking place at Pontão do Lago Sul, where the IRONMAN Village will also be located.

“It is a great joy to be returning to Brasília, the place where the IRONMAN 70.3 circuit started in Brazil in 2006. It is a privileged destination in the heart of Brazil, with a very strong sports culture. The climate and wide roads contribute to an extremely competitive and fast race." highlights Carlos Galvão, CEO of Unlimited Sports, who owns and operates the race.

“We are excited to see IRONMAN 70.3 racing return to the Brazilian Capital in 2025,” said Joanna Jordan, Vice President - Managing Director of Latin America for The IRONMAN Group. “Carlos and his team in Brazil have worked hard to be able to deliver another historic opportunity to race in Brasília and we look forward to welcoming people from around the world to compete in this truly unique and welcoming community.”

A hotbed for sports in Brazil, Brasília boasts a vibrant sports culture and has hosted various competitions, including the IRONMAN 70.3 Brasília triathlon on five occasions. The 2025 Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Brasília triathlon will take place during the week celebrating the 65th anniversary of the city's founding.

The 1.2-mile swim start for the 1.9 km distance will be at Pontão do Lago Sul, which will also serve as Transition 1. After 90 km of fast and mostly flat cycling and the 21.1 km run, athletes will return to Pontão, where the champions of the race will be announced. The IRONMAN® Village will also be set up at the same location, where athletes, companions, and the general public can interact and enjoy offers and news regarding sports equipment, clothing, and accessories.

The Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Brasília triathlon will offer qualifying slots to the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon taking place in Marbella, Spain.

Registration for the 2025 Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Brasília triathlon will open on November 18 at www.ironman.com/im703-brasilia.
