On Sunday, July 20, the IRONMAN® Pro Series™ returns to New York’s Adirondack Mountains when over 80 of the world’s top professional triathletes toe the start line at the iconic Athletic Brewing IRONMAN® Lake Placid triathlon. The event will offer a maximum of 5,000 points towards IRONMAN® Pro Series standings, a $125,000 USD event total pro prize purse, and four qualifying slots for each gender to the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship®triathlon in Nice, France (men’s race) and Kona, Hawai`i (women’s race).
The event can be viewed live in person and will be broadcast across multiple platforms for viewers around the world, including proseries.ironman.com, Outside TV in the US and Canada, DAZN, L'Equipe in France, and ESPN (within Disney+) in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In yet another stacked women’s field, Danielle Lewis (USA) will return to the Adirondacks looking to defend her title. Lewis, who currently sits fourth in the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series standings, earned her first full-distance IRONMAN victory in a thrilling come-from-behind win in Lake Placid last year. Runner up in both Lake Placid and the 2024 IRONMAN Pro Series overall, Jackie Hering (USA) heads to upstate New York looking for back-to-back full-distance wins following her victory down under at the Cairns Airport IRONMAN Cairns triathlon in June. Spain’s Marta Sanchez, who sits sixth in the Series, will look to impress in her first North American appearance following early season success that saw her place second at the ISUZU IRONMAN South Africa African Championship in March.
Making her full distance debut in Lake Placid will be 2016 IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion Holly Lawrence (GBR). Lawrence has recently returned to racing following the birth of her first child in 2024 and has expressed her desire to pursue a qualification to the IRONMAN World Championship® triathlon in Kona in 2025.
Other top challengers include Norway’s Solveig Løvseth, who is currently seventh in the IRONMAN Pro Series; Dutch powerhouse Lotte Wilms (NLD), who finished third in the inaugural IRONMAN Pro Series and is currently sitting ninth this year; 2025 ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand champion Regan Hollioake (AUS), who finished fifth in Lake Placid last year; Denmark’s Maja Stage Nielsen, fresh off a second-place finish at the IRONMAN 70.3 Westfriesland triathlon; and 2022 IRONMAN Lake Placid champion Sarah True.
In the men’s field, bib number one will belong to defending champion and rising talent Trevor Foley (USA), who ran an incredible 2:36:31 marathon split to capture his first full-distance victory in 2024. Challenging Foley will be a laundry list of high-caliber competition, including the likes of 2025 Cairns Airport IRONMAN Cairns champion Matthew Marquardt (USA), who finished second to Foley in Lake Placid last year. Veteran triathlete Matt Hanson (USA) will be on the hunt for his first title in Lake Placid following three appearances in the Adirondacks (2024, 2023, and 2012). Also racing Lake Placid for the first time is Denmark’s Kristian Høgenhaug, who will toe the start line in fine form following his hugely impressive second place finish at the Mainova IRONMAN Frankfurt European Championship triathlon last month.
Not to be counted out are France’s Leon Chevalier, New Zealand duo Braden Currie, Italy’s Mattias Ceccarelli, South Africa’s Bradley Weiss, Sweden’s Robert Kallin, and American Colin Szuch, highlighting a truly international field heading to compete in the historic Olympic venue.

The iconic Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon course begins with a 2.4-mile swim in the beautiful Mirror Lake. Then a two-loop 112-mile bike course through the Adirondacks, featuring a long descent down to the village of Keene and finishing with an 11-mile climb through the Wilmington Notch, taking athletes past Whiteface Mountain. The two-loop run course takes athletes past the Horse Show Grounds and the Olympic Ski Jumps before following scenic River Road and the challenging climb back into town. The race culminates with an unforgettable finish line experience on the legendary Olympic Oval used in the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.
In addition to the professional field, over 2,800 registered participants will compete at the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon on the same course, looking to earn age-group qualifying slots to the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship® triathlon in Nice, France (men’s race) and Kona, Hawai`i (women’s race).
