In the mens race Benjamin Zorgnotti lead a pack of ten out of the water into T2. Jeremy Maclean joined Zorgnotti on the bike course to forged a two man lead onto the run with the peloton coming into transition five minutes back. Maclean kept his nerve and the lead to come home in first position to his disbelief, the chasing pack over came Zorgnotti with Ari Klau fighting his way to second with fast charging Matt Hanson pipping Sam Long to the third podium place.
In the women’s race Grace Alexander continued her current good form with a well deserved wire to wire win. Alexander held off heavyweights Paula Findlay and Jackie Hering who where pushing the pace and pack all day putting pressure on Alexander who collapsed with relief at the finnish line.
