IRONMAN Shanghai China 2026 gave us a limited pro field to lead off a large enthusiastic Age group pack.
In the Mens race, China’s Junjie Fan came out of the swim first with Rongheng Chen second and Simon Shi third. Shi showed his dominance on the bike to enter T2 first followed by Chen and Fan dropping back to third. Chen then emptied the tank on the run to pass and gap Shi into second and Fan hung onto third.
In the women’s event, Alanis Siffert took control early and never looked back, coming out of the swim with Xinyu Lin hot on her heals and Kaiye Mai one thirty back in third, Siffert turned the bike leg into a suffer fest for the rest of the field stretching her lead into almost eight minutes. Once onto the run course Siffert cruised to the Finnish line with Lin spending all day in second and Mai battling it out for the eventual third place podium spot.
