Finn Große-freese DEU Wins IRONMAN Copenhagen

In a thrilling finish at the 2025 IRONMAN Copenhagen, German athlete Finn Große-Freese secured a dramatic victory, overtaking Danish contender Mathias Lyngsø Petersen in the final kilometers of the run.

The race began with a close swim segment, with a tightly packed lead group including Große-Freese, Emil Holm, Morten Schmidt, Emil Holm made an impressive early move on the bike, establishing a significant lead. However, Rasmus Svenningsson from Sweden launched a strong comeback after a slower swim, The marathon proved to be the decisive segment. Svenningsson, after his exceptional bike performance, was forced to withdraw early in the run, giving Petersen the lead, in the final kilometers, Petersen's pace faltered, and Große-Freese sensed the opportunity surged past a fading Petersen to claim a hard-fought victory.
