The 2025 Itaú BBA IRONMAN 70.3 Rio de Janeiro, the 9th edition of the event, saw Argentina's Luciano Taccone and France's Julie Iemmolo claim the victories in the men's and women's professional races respectively.
Men's race: Taccone secured a decisive win, finishing with a time of 3:31:24. He demonstrated strong performances across all disciplines, including a shortened swim segment of 14:07, a swift bike leg of 2:00:39, and a powerful run of 1:11:33. The remainder of the top finishers were all Brazilian, with Reinaldo Colucci taking second place (3:35:44) and Fernando Toldi just behind him in third (3:35:47).
Women's race: Iemmolo dominated the women's race from start to finish, posting a winning time of 4:01:23. Her impressive performance included a swim time of 14:29, a bike split of 2:16:07, and a run time of 1:25:09. Local favorite Pamella Oliveira finished in second place with a time of 4:05:29, followed by Romina Biagioli of Argentina in third (4:14:33).
