IRONMAN Canada Penticton Pro Preview

The IRONMAN® Canada triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America series, is set to make its final appearance this Sunday in Penticton, British Columbia, where the first North American IRONMAN triathlon was born, before moving to Ottawa in 2025. Both professional and age group athletes are set to take on the iconic course through the Okanagan Valley. Race weekend kicks off on Thursday, August 22 with athlete check-in at the IRONMAN Village expo at Rotary Park. On Sunday, August 25, athletes will begin their IRONMAN journey in Okanagan Lake, bike through the scenic rolling hills up Richter Pass and along the Kettle Valley Trail before finishing at the historic Lakeshore Drive in downtown Penticton.

Professional Field

Sunday’s event will feature a stellar field of professional triathletes vying for a $100,000 pro prize purse and the IRONMAN Canada title for the final time in Penticton. Top contenders in the men’s field include Canadians Lionel Sanders, Cody Beals and Penticton local Jeff Symonds, as well as Australian Sam Appleton. Top contenders in the women’s field include Americans Sarah True and Meredith Kessler, Canadians Rach McBride, Melanie McQuaid and Penticton local Jen Annett.
