The Visit Panama City Beach IRONMAN Florida triathlon will return to Panama City Beach on Saturday, Nov. 7, welcoming more than 2,500 athletes to Florida’s Panhandle. Since its debut in 1999, the event has become the longest consecutively running full-distance IRONMAN event in North America. Athletes will take on this iconic 140.6-mile challenge, beginning with a 2.4-mile swim in the emerald waters of the Gulf around Russell-Fields Pier. From there, athletes will transition to a 112-mile bike ride before completing a 26.2-mile, two-lap run along Front Beach Road and experiencing the spectator-filled finish in Panama City Beach’s Pier Park.
Professional Race
A deep professional field will descend on Florida’s Panhandle this weekend to compete in the 2026 Visit Panama City Beach IRONMAN Florida triathlon, with three qualifying slots per gender available for the 2027 IRONMAN World Championship. The women’s race is set to feature 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship third place finisher and 2026 Challenge Roth champion, Switzerland’s Alanis Siffert, and 2016 IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion, and Holly Lawrence (GBR), who finished sixth in her Kona debut in 2025. Also changing for the top step of the podium will be Laura Jansen (DEU), Annamarie Strehlow (USA), Linda Brännlund (SWE) and Angela Naeth (USA). The men’s field is expected to include Sam Long (USA), Magnus Ditlev (DNK), Cameron Wurf (AUS), Matt Hanson (USA), Ben Kanute (USA) and 2023 IRONMAN Florida champion Rudy von Berg (USA). Von Berg holds the overall course best time, while Ditlev and Hanson set the current bike and run course records, respectively, during the 2023 race. The professional start lists remain subject to change ahead of race day.
