Laura Philipp’s 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series campaign has been one of steadily built momentum – delivering five podiums, including two wins, and a sixth-place finish at the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
Her season opened with a third-place finish at IRONMAN 70.3 Aix-en-Provence followed by a second-place finish at the IRONMAN Hamburg European Championship. The German would secure her first win late into the season as she travelled to Sweden in August to race IRONMAN Kalmar. It was a victory that reminded everyone just how lethal Philipp can be when on song, as she took the tape by an 18-minute margin and set a new course best time in the process. Just two weeks later Philipp was back on the top step of the podium after securing another win at IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun.
In all four of those races Philipp recorded the fastest run of the day, but it was her improving swim and bike legs that gave her just as much confidence heading into championship season.
In Nice, France – the location of her 2024 IRONMAN World Championship title – Philipp produced another strong performance to finish sixth at the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
Heading into the Pro Series finale in Kona with a slender lead at the top of the standings, though carrying one extra IRONMAN 70.3 score than her title rival Solveig Løvseth, Philipp needed to finish 01:02 or more ahead of the Norwegian to earn her first Pro Series title.
And when it mattered most, Philipp once again delivered on the run. The German recorded the fastest run of the day for the fifth time in her Pro Series campaign to finish second at the IRONMAN World Championship, overturning an eight-and-a-half-minute deficit from the swim and doing enough to pip Løvseth at the death and claim the 2026 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series title. Philipp finished second in Kona, 3:06 behind Taylor Knibb, while Løvseth crossed the line eighth.
