On Sunday, September 28, 2025, over 2,000 athletes competed in the IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta, with Paula Findlay of Canada winning the professional women's race and Jason West of the United States taking the men's title.
Findlay's path to victory
Paula Findlay defended her 2023 title by putting on a clinic on the bike and holding off local Georgia contender Grace Alexander. Findlay began with a deficit after the 1.2-mile downstream swim in the Savannah River, finishing the stage more than a minute and a half behind race leader Margarita Ryan. Showing her time trial prowess, Findlay quickly made up ground during the 56-mile bike ride. By the time she reached transition, she had joined Grace Alexander and Amelie Kretz at the front of the race. Findlay's running performance solidified her lead, and she crossed the finish line with a winning time of 4:04:43.
West's impressive run
Jason West used his powerful running ability to close the gap on the leaders and secure the men's win. After trailing a large pack following the bike, West surged ahead during the 13.1-mile run, quickly establishing a two-minute lead that he maintained to the finish line. He completed the course in 3:35:05.
