IRONMAN Announce 70.3 Buenos Aires Argentina

IRONMAN announced?today that the vibrant neighborhood of Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina will host the IRONMAN® 70.3® Buenos Aires triathlon for the first time with competition set to take place on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023. In addition, it was also announced that Palermo will continue to host the popular 5150TM Buenos Aires triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023. Registration for both events event is now available by visiting www.ironman.com/im703-buenos-aires-register and www.ironman.com/5150-buenos-aires-register, respectively.

We look forward to welcoming people from around the world to compete in the new IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires and 5150 Palermo triathlons and enjoy this cosmopolitan, bustling South American city.” 
 
The IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires triathlon will start with a 1.9 km (1.2-mile) swim in Palermo Lake. Once out of the water, athletes will transition onto the bike for 90 km (56-mile) of cycling on the Figueroa Alcorta Ave., Lugones Ave., and Madero Ave. route before capping off their race with a 21.1 km (13.1-mile) run through the streets of Palermo and an electric finish line at the statue of the Palermo Woods, a popular urban park and tourism destination in the heart of the iconic neighborhood.
 
The 5150 Buenos Aires triathlon will begin with a 1.5 km (0.93 miles) swim in Palermo Lake. After exiting the water, athletes will take on the 40 km (24.85 miles) of cycling on the Figueroa Alcorta Ave, and Lugones Ave. route before capping off their race with a 10 km (6.2miles) run through the streets of Palermo also finishing at the statue of the Palermo Woods, making for an unforgettable Argentinian racing experience.
 
Known for being the largest neighborhood in Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. With an eclectic mixture of culture, cuisine and nightlife, Palermo offers an exceptional race experience in one of Argentina’s top tourist communities.
 
The 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires triathlon will offer qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship race taking place in Taupo, New Zealand on December 14 -15, 2024.
