Lucy Gossage Gives IRONMAN Wales Another Go

Friday 13 September 2019

IRONMAN Wales begins on Tenby's North Beach, which provides one of the most spectacular swim locations on the race circuit. Despite challenging bike and run courses, athletes are treated to consistent and motivating inspiration from some of the most vocal and enthusiastic spectators in endurance sports.

Tenby is a seaside town steeped in ancient history and surrounded by an imposing medieval stone wall. Over time, Tenby has seen many changes, but it has been on the leisure map for over 200 years. With all that experience, the people of Tenby know how to offer each and every visitor an unforgettable time. Notable features of Tenby include 4 km of sandy beaches, the 13th century medieval town walls, the 15th century St. Mary's Church; the Tudor Merchant's House; Tenby Museum and Art Gallery; and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path—part of Wales' only coastal National Park.
