70.3 Oregon Returns to Salem USA

Oregon's capital city and the Willamette Valley are scheduled to host the second edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon triathlon on Sunday, July 10.  Athletes will embark on a 70.3-mile journey consisting of a 1.2-mile down river swim in the Willamette River, a 56-mile ride through Oregon’s wine country and 13.1-mile run featuring Minto Brown Island Park. Race weekend begins on Friday, July 8, with athlete check-in at Salem Convention Center.
 
Top triathletes from around the world, including Tim O’Donnell (USA), Justin Metzler (USA), Eric Lagerstrom (USA), Heather Jackson (USA), Hannah Wells (NZL), and three-time IRONMAN World Champion Mirinda Carfrae (AUS) among others are scheduled to compete for a professional prize purse of $30,000.  
 
The 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon is a dual qualifier which will offer qualifying slots to both 2022 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in St. George, Utah AND to 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Lahti, Finland.
