Vicente Trewhela (CHI) appeared to be the one to beat in Chile this past weekend. The Chilean lead the men's field out of the water and carried a two minute lead on Santiago Ascenco (BRA) heading into transition. Asecnco, who is always tough to beat on this distance, hit the gas hard and recorded the fastest run on the day to take the win.
Ellie Salthouse (AUS) turned one minute lead out of the water into a three minute lead coming off the bike. Pouring it on even harder on the run, the Aussie took the victory by close to a seven minute winning margin.
