Top professional triathletes from around the globe will toe the start line at the Qatar Airways IRONMAN
® 70.3
® Chattanooga triathlon as the IRONMAN Pro Series™ returns to North America on Saturday, May 19. The 2024 Qatar Airways IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga triathlon will offer professionals a maximum of 2,500 points towards IRONMAN Pro Series standings, a $50,000 event total pro prize purse and two qualifying slots for each gender to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
In yet another deep men’s and women’s professional field, the event can be seen live in person and will be broadcast across multiple platforms for viewers around the world for free including
proseries.ironman.com, Outside TV, DAZN and L'Equipe in France, among others.
With every second behind the race winner equating to a point earned or lost, athletes know Every Second Matters. Currently sitting atop of the IRONMAN Pro Series standings, Danielle Lewis (USA), will be returning to Chattanooga after an impressive second place finish at the same event last year. Lewis has placed in the top 10 for all three IRONMAN Pro Series events she has raced so far and will undoubtedly be looking for another strong performance to keep her place at the top.
Returning 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga Champion Jackie Hering (USA) who came 3
rd at the Intermountain Health IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St. George will toe the line in the hopes of improving her current position of 18
th in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings. Emma Pallant-Browne who is due to race in the Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca Triathlon this weekend is slated to toe the line, as well.
Looking to add points to their totals will be Kylie Simpson (AUS) who is currently ranked 4
th in the Series, Alice Alberts (USA) currently ranked 8
th, Grace Thek (AUS) currently ranked 27
th, and Grace Alexander (USA) currently ranked 31st.
Making their IRONMAN Pro Series debut will be two-time Olympian Sarah True (USA), Jodie Stimpson (GBR), Meredith Kessler (USA) and more.
In the professional men’s professional field, Jackson Laundry (CAN), who is currently sitting in eleventh place in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings will be after a strong performance to push him in to the top 10. He will be challenged by Matt Hanson (USA) and Matthew Marquardt (USA) who are currently ranked 2
nd and 8
th in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings respectively.
Antony Costes (FRA) and Nicholas Quenet (ZAF) will also be on the start line after coming 3
rd and 5
th at the Intermountain Health IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St. George.
Making their IRONMAN Pro Series debut will be Cody Beals (CAN), Hunter Lussi (USA) and more.
The 2024 Qatar Airways IRONMAN?70.3 Chattanooga triathlon will see athletes kick off their race with a unique 1.4-mile swim in the Tennessee River before embarking on the 56-mile bike course through northern Georgia and historic Chickamauga. The 13.1-mile run course takes athletes through scenic downtown Chattanooga before finishing at Ross’s Landing along the Tennessee River.
In addition to the professional field, over 3,500 registered participants will compete at the 2024 Qatar Airways IRONMAN?70.3 Chattanooga alongside the professionals on the same course, looking to earn age group qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship on Dec. 14 and 15 in Taupo, New Zealand. In addition to this, the Qatar Airways IRONMAN?70.3 Chattanooga event also offers 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship, Nice, France, slots to the Top 5 Placed Women in each age group category.
