Javier Gomez (ESP), the two-time IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion, remained in cover of the lead pack in the swim and on the bike before unleashing on the run. New Zealand’s top triathlete Braden Currie crushed his international competition in the run today to win the Challenge Wanaka centrepiece event the Half distance race in four hours flat. Michael Raelert started into the new year of racing with a first successful competition. In Pottsville Beach, Australia, the Rostockian took the win at the Tweed Coast Enduro triathlon. In 3:58:41 hours, he won at the Ironman-70.3-distance event, consisting of a 1.9 kilometer swim, 90 kilometers of cycling and a run of 21.1 kilometers. more
