Down-Hill Swim Awaits at 70.3 Augusta USA

Augusta is home to one of North America's largest IRONMAN 70.3 races - and one of its fastest. America’s quickest down-river swim will start your day off on the right foot. As you bike through rural Augusta, take in all this scenic Southern destination has to offer. Plenty of shade awaits you on the spectator-filled run course through historic downtown as you ease to the Finish Line next to the world-famous James Brown statue. The city of Augusta is no stranger to treating elite athletes and visitors alike to its world-renowned Southern Hospitality. Whether you’re looking for a first-timer friendly course or a seasoned veteran looking for a personal best, this Southern gem will not disappoint.

Athletes start the day with a 1.2 mile swim in the Savannah River then take on a one-loop,56 mile hilly bike course through Georgia and into South Carolina. The day ends with a 13.1 mile run through downtown Augusta.

PATAGONMAN is a grueling triathlon that takes place in one of the most breathtaking natural settings in the world. Starting in the Aysen Fjord, athletes must swim 3.8 kilometers, cycle 180 kilometers along the famous Carretera Austral, and then run 42.2 kilometers through canyons, next to lakes and waterfalls to General Carrera Lake. Along the way, participants may encounter a variety of wildlife, including sea otters, sea lions, whales, dolphins and even pumas. This race is not for beginners. more
