Gustav Iden NOR Heather Jackson USA win IRONMAN Florida

Panama City Beach and Florida’s Northwest Gulf of Mexico coastline played host to the 2021 IRONMAN® Florida triathlon on Saturday, November 6. With many of triathlon’s best on hand, two-time reigning IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion Gustav Iden (NOR) topped the men’s field with an impressive victory in his debut full-distance IRONMAN triathlon performance with a finishing time of 7:42:57. In the women’s professional race, Heather Jackson (USA) earned a hard-fought victory with a finishing time of 8:52:57. The 2021 Visit Panama City Beach IRONMAN Florida triathlon also featured live event coverage that was on Facebook Watch via the IRONMAN Now channel. Finishing just behind Iden in second on the men’s professional podium was Lionel Sanders (CAN), who came in with a finishing time of 7:48:50 and Robert Kallin (SWE) who rounded out the podium in third with a time of 8:08:13. In the professional women’s race, Skye Moench (USA) took second in 8:56:36, while Laura Zimmerman (DEU) finished in third with a time of 9:08:01

The 2021 Visit Panama City Beach IRONMAN Florida triathlon saw more than 2,000 athletes start the race. Competitors ranged in age from 18-84 years old. The event led athletes lead athletes along a 2.4-mile swim through the emerald-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Once out of the water, athletes took on a 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run on a flat and fast course highlighted by Panama City Beach, the intercoastal waterway, breathtaking views of the Northern Florida shoreline and an electric finish line inside Pier Park. The event offered a professional prize purse of $100,000, as well as professional and age group qualifying slots to the 2022 IRONMAN World Championship taking place in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i next October.
