Soaring Over 70.3 Eagleman

Saturday 07 June 2014
Looking down at the start list for Sundays IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland its hard to spot a clear favorite in both the mens and women’s events.

Ukrainian Journeyman Viktor Zyemtsev is back having stood on the 3rd tier of the podium last year and he will want to soar above that this time round.

Tim O’Donnell has be chewing over the new name to emblazon his ride and this week announced “Getting set for Eagleman this weekend with the new Trek Speed Concept name... TO's Trident!”. He hopes for a perfect three pronged attack to bring him victory.

When it comes to bikes Andrew Starykowicz will want to lead into T2 with a large enough gap to hold of fast runners Bevan Docherty & Jesse Thomas who will be keeping a close eye on each other as well as Matty Reed and Leon Griffin who will also be hoping to swoop in and perch on the podium. Jesse certainly feels comfortable with his prep leading into this race telling us “You know you nailed your taper when all your saddle sores disappear by race day”

Natascha Babmann is no stranger to this course having won here multiple times and even set a new half Ironman world record time in 2007. Natascha and her Cheetah will be hunting for KPR points come Sunday.

Radka Vodickova is the in form girl at the moment and hardly a weekend goes by without her name on a start list some ware around the globe. Amber Ferreira will not be short of confidence after her 3rd place finish at Ironman Texas three weeks back. Heather Wurtele will want to line her nest with a win here before watching husband Trevor take on 70.3 Boise. Caitlin Snow will once again be the women to watch on the run as she shows off her amazing leg speed.
