Challenge Atlantic City announced that long time Professional Triathlete, local Champion and 26x Ironman finisher, Jacqui Gordon will take part in their June 29th Challenge USA debut triathlon in Atlantic City. The Challenge series expanded into North America in 2013 with Canada’s Challenge Penticton.
Jacqui has been a crowd favorite on the local and international circuit for many years competing and holding many Top 5 finishes in the full and half distance races with a 3rd place at Ironman Lake Placid and a 4th at Ironman South Africa.
Robert Vigorito, co-event director of Challenge Atlantic City is ecstatic to have his long-time friend, and the always smiling, Jacqui Gordon on the start line of this inaugural 140.6 mile US race. “Jacqui is originally from South Africa but she has lived on the Jersey shore for the last 16 years and has been a great ambassador for triathlon, especially those events I founded while at TriColumbia.” She shares our passion for triathlon as a lifestyle, and bring added excitement and attention to our Grande Debut in Atlantic City.”
Regarding the announcement, Jacqui commented, “When I heard that the Challenge Family was bringing one of their races to the Jersey Shore I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of it! This is history in the making and I am so looking forward it! I know many people who have picked Challenge Atlantic City as their first full distance race or have chosen this to be their main focus race of the year! There is nothing better than racing and seeing all your friends out on the race course and cheering them on! I have run on the historic boardwalk in AC many times so it will be really special running the marathon portion of the race and to finish right there in front of famous Boardwalk Hall !
