70.3 Luxemborg Pro start field

Wednesday 04 June 2014
The 2014 edition ERGO IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg in Remich will feature one of the best professional starter fields in Europe. In the mens race it is nearly impossible to announce one main favorite. 6 men will lead a large field and all of them have good chances to run for the winning title.

Axel Zeebroek will try to defend his title from last year. He showed already a strong performance at Ironman Melbourne earlier this year, where he finished in 7th place.

Nils Frommhold, the German rising star wants to earn his first 70.3 title for this year. He had a great season this far, winning Ironman South Africa in April.

Marino Vanhoenacker, European champion over the Ironman distance in 2012 and fastest man ever in an Ironman race, was showing last weekend in St. Polten (AUT) over the 70.3 distance that he is back in shape and highly motivated for the Luxembourg race.

Timo Bracht, European Champion over the Ironman distance in 2009 will compete in his first race in Europe this year. The team PowerHorse captain wants to test his form in Luxembourg for the upcoming European events.

Romain Guillaume winner of the recent Ironman Lanzarote will join the race for the win of the second edition of the ERGO IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg.

Patrick Lange runner up of the first edition of ERGO IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg, will challenge the top field again and could surprise the big names.

A fascinating women’s race is initiating on June 21st 2014.

Susi Hignett, winner of the IRONMAN 70.3 Aix en Provence in 2013, was last year only beaten by Sophie Goos in a thrilling final by seconds. She comes back to take the winon this years edition.

Anja Beranek, European Champion in 2012 over the half Ironman distance, and winner of Ironman Zurich 2013 will be the top favorite of the women’s race.

Gina Crawford second place in this years Ironman New Zealand will compete for the win of the second edition of the ERGO IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg. She has multiple Ironman wins and is keen to add another one to her incredible records.
