First and foremost this weekend, Jan Raphael was flying the flag of the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team winning his race at Ingolstadt Triathlon. Timo Bracht finished seventh at the Ironman 70.3 Raleigh (USA), putting an end to various months of preparations in America. Georg Potrebitsch missed the goal of a top 5 finish he had set himself, achieving ninth place at the Iroman 70.3 Switzerland.
Strong start and even better finish
Jan Raphael had not been too cautious before the race at Ingolstadt, stating from the beginning that he would give it all to gain further insights concerning his preparations for the Ironman Frankfurt. Although Raphael was not able to decide the race neither on the 2 k swim course nor on the 77 k bike course, he showed an impressive 21 k run: "On the run I was able to finish off the race", Jan Raphael commented after the race.
Eberbach calling
The Ironman 70.3 Raleigh in North Carolina was supposed to be Timo Bracht's last und ultimate test before his return to Germany. He finished off his working day in seventh place and in 4:07:02 hours. Now he and his family will be returning to Germany. Bracht is looking back on a successful stay: "After four months in California, it's hard to say goodbye. We have adapted very well to life here and training conditions were excellent." In just a few days he will start training in Germany with his team mates. Then, also Georg Potrebitsch will be joining them in Eberbach. Potrebitsch finished the Ironman 70.3 Rapperswil-Jona (SUI) in ninth place. Shortly after passing the finish line he was certain about the tactical mistake he had made: "On the bike in the mountains we were racing pretty hard with the leading bunch and soon I felt the lactate in my legs. On the run my muscles felt sore time and again."
