An exiting triathlon weekend lies ahead: Georg Potrebitsch will be competing in the Ironman 70.3 in Rapperswil-Jona (SUI), Jan Raphael will test out his strength at the Ingolstadt Triathlon and Timo Bracht will finish off his long stay in the United States with the Ironman 70.3 Raleigh. In June, the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team will unite once again for a few days of joint preparation for the season.
"I won't mind if I win"
Georg Potrebitsch looks ahead with confidence to the upcoming race in Switzerland. The athlete from Gladbeck has competed in quite a few local running events, "setting new impulses and experiencing sore muscles like never before". Now he feels fit to take on international competitors and is determined to perform with the best: "I feel very well prepared and think that a top 5 finish is quite realistic", Potrebitsch confirmed and continued: "Well, I won't mind if I win."
"I'd like to win, but without any tactical manoeuvres"
After competing last year at Ingolstadt Triathlon in the Olympic distance, Jan Raphael opted this year for the middle distance and would like to follow in the footsteps of his team colleague Georg Potrebtisch who won that race in 2013. "I want to test my current form for the Frankfurt Ironman, see what it's like and find out what work will be left in the upcoming training camps. There is a stable basis, but still I somewhat lack speed and the ultimate resistance", said Raphael a few days before the race. Just like in any other race he will go for the victory in Ingolstadt, which means "giving it everything and win without any tactical manoeuvres."
Bye-bye States! Hello Germany!
Timo Bracht has spent more than three months with his family in the United States. Next week he will be returning to Germany and soon compete in his first race on German soil. But before that he will race in North Carolina at the Ironman 70.3 Raleigh, hoping to finish off his American adventure with a successful race. As soon as Bracht will feel at home in Germany, the entire POWER HORSE Triathlon Team will unite for a few days of joint training and further planning of the season.
Horst Reichel and Niclas Bock will be returning to competition in the middle and end of June. Reichel will be on the starting line on June 15th at Challenge Kraichgau, whereas Bock will be competing on June 29th at Chiemsee Triathlon. Both are classical middle distance races with a 1.9 k swim, 90 k on the bike and a 21 k run.
