Race Challenge Atlantic City with Tim O’Donnell

Friday 23 May 2014
World Champion Triathlete Timothy O’Donnell is excited to announce that he is seeking a cyclist and runner to join with him on a relay team to benefit Team RWB at the inaugural Challenge Atlantic City on June 29, 2014.

For his part in the 140.6 mile Callenge race, O’Donnell will complete the 2.4 mile swim in the back bays of Atlantic City, the team cyclist will ride the fast and flat 112 mile bike course, and the runner will cover 26.2 miles, finishing on the historic boardwalk of Atlantic City.

The relay slots will be auctioned on eBay, with the auction opening on May 22nd and closing on May 27th. All proceeds will directly benefit Team RWB and their mission to transform the reintegration of wounded veterans into society through sport and social engagement.

O’Donnell explains, “We think of triathlon as an individual sport, but it’s also an incredibly supportive community working together to encourage and celebrate one another. Racing as part of a relay team in a Challenge Family eventto raise funds for the courageous veteran athletes of Team RWB, embraces this idea. I’m looking forward to a great swim at Challenge Atlantic City, passing my timing chip to my teammate in T1, and then cheering on my team and all the athletes on the course.”

Blayne Smith, Executive Director of Team RWB stated, “Team RWB is fortunate and proud to count Timothy O’Donnell as a member, coach, and advisor of our organization.  We are so thankful to Tim and his sponsors for their generous support and for allowing us to be a part this great event.”

In addition to the opportunity to compete and raise money and awareness for Team RWB, each of the two auction winners will also be awarded a great race package from some of T.O.’s sponsors:

Team RWB Relay winners receive:

Mavic Tri Helium cycling shoes
Newton Performance Trainer running shoes

Rob Vigorito, Event Director for Challenge Atlantic City remarked, “Timothy’s relay team helps us to highlight the ‘Challenge Your Self, Race for a Cause’ theme that we fully embrace at our inaugural Challenge Atlantic City race weekend. We offer a top quality race experience that athletes have come to expect from Challenge races and can guarantee that Timothy and his teammates will have an unforgettable experience in the course of raising money for Team RWB.”
