The POWER HORSE Triathlon Team has attracted plenty of attention in its debut year with top performances in all areas. Now it is time to start writing the next chapters in this success story. In Niclas Bock the team has gained a new athlete who will be gradually introduced to long-distance triathlon at the top level. Along with Horst Reichel he will be lining up for Challenge Fuerteventura this Saturday.
Athlete with a dual role
The Power Horse Triathlon Team was launched in 2013 not only to achieve sporting success but to continuously develop and strengthen its ranks. From 2014 this will become visible in the signing of a new athlete, although the team has not gained an extra member. Instead, there will be some changes in the current year for one of the current team, namely myself. Today I would like to present myself as a new athlete in the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team (admittedly this is a somewhat unusual task, to write a press release partially in the first person!).
My name is Niclas Bock. Since the team was founded I have supported it in my role of PR Manager, working with the Team Manager Karsten Streng on the team’s professional image, as I will continue to do. At the age of 23 I am now the young blood in the team.
So why step into the ranks of these four top athletes? On the one hand there is the potential I have at long distance. Last year I finished my first long-distance event, Challenge Barcelona, in 8:29:16 after just six weeks of preparation. On the other hand the words of Timo Bracht are quite fitting: “Our aim is to have a team that grows from within and where everyone knows they can completely rely on the others. Niclas already showed that this is the case last year with his work for the team, and after his race appearances and development we are delighted that we can also work together on a sporting level.”
Now I will have the chance to continue developing, both in journalistic and sporting terms, in one of the world’s best triathlon teams. This is both a source of motivation and a challenge for me. I would like to thank the guys for showing faith in me and of course I am going to give it everything. The serious business of racing begins for me this Saturday 26 April at the Challenge Fuerteventura. Horst Reichel and I aim to show what we have to offer in the classic middle distance and the positive effect our joint training sessions over recent months.
New team image
The team has changed visually too, with a slick redesign of the website (www.powerhorse-trathlonteam.com). The team’s colours have also been altered to a classic black-and-white style, with the striking red colour now just being used for emphasis. This new team image has been captured in some new photo and video material. The initial impressions of this can be found attached to this press release in the form of a news trailer and the first team pictures.
Isaak Papadopoulos took charge of producing the video material. The triathlon star photographer Michael Rauschendorfer took his impressions of the team in a three-day photo shoot. All of these materials were created during a team training camp at our partner hotel Viva Blue in Majorca.
All partners remain on board | Ladival becomes EUNOVA
Preparations have also been made on the sponsorship side of things. All the partners from our debut year will continue to support the team. This means our exclusive sponsorship portfolio includes the Austrian energy drink producer POWER HORSE, the global market leader in bicycle technology GIANT, X-Technologies with its highly innovative compression clothing brands X-BIONIC and X-SOCKS, the Italian manufacturer of premium sports glasses and helmets Rudy Project, the hand-made carbon fibre rims producer ENVE Composites, and Saucony, surely America’s most traditional manufacturer of running shores.
Also still on board is the STADA Group. Whereas in 2013 its sunscreen brand Ladival could be seen on our athletes‘ running tops, now the 100% subsidiary STADAvita GmbH is taking over the sponsorship with its dietary supplement Eunova.
