Ironman announce that Zell am See-Kaprun Salzburgerland, Austria has been selected to host the 2015 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon. The championship race will be held on August 30, 2015 and marks the first time that the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship race will be held in Europe.
Nearly 120,000 athletes will participate in the global IRONMAN 70.3 Series during the 2014-2015 season, which consists of over 70 events in locations such as Australia, Brazil, Malaysia and South Africa. Each age-group winner at the 2014 Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship will automatically qualify for the 2015 race Championship in Zell am See-Kaprun

The start will be at the lakeside in Schüttdorf / Zell am See. The athletes will swim 1,9 km in the Zeller See. The way is very close to the lakeside so that spectators can cheer their athletes up perfectly and there will be a great atmosphere. The transition area will be at the soccer field of Schüttdorf/ Zell am See next to the swim exit.
The bike course consists of two laps of 43 km and the additional way from / to the transition zone of 2 km. Bike 640 difference in altitude for 90km.
There are three laps to run on the scenic run along Lake Zell. Run 169m difference in altitude for 21,1km.
