70.3 Philippines preview

Set in Cebu, one of Asia’s most important economic cities and home to the Philippines Stock Exchange, this is one of the most popular IRONMAN 70.3 events in Asia, drawing participants and fans from all over the Asia-Pacific.

Cobra Energy Drink IRONMAN 70.3 Philippines is hosted in Cebu in Cebu Province in the central Philippines.

The 1.2-mile swim begins on the white sands of Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa. The one-loop course run parallel to the shoreline, returning athletes to the Shangri-La and T1. The two-loop, 56-mile bike course takes athletes toward the main island of Cebu where the course winds over coastline highway. A 13.1-mile, two-loop run course provides an enjoyable journey through a tree-lined Punta Engano Road, luxurious hotels and shops; and the natural beauty of the island. 

There are 30 age group slots for the 2015 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.

One of the age group athletes (30-34) will be non other than F1 Grand Prix race driver Jenson Button competing in this event for his second time before going back to his day Job.
