McNamee, Pallant headline 70.3 Marbella

Thursday 26 April 2018
Marbella is located in the world-renowned Spanish Costa del Sol and is famous for its crystal-clear beaches and extraordinary terrain.

Flanked by the ocean and the mountains, it is one of the most beautiful locations in Spain, boasting one of the most luxurious marinas across the world - Puerto Banús - as well. This Andalusian city will be a spectacular host for athletes, as well as their families and friends. All participants will find a wide range of activities in the region and a perfect climate to make the most of their stay.

Athletes will swim in the Mediterranean waters. After the transition, located in the legendary Avenida de las Naciones Unidas, they will cycle the 90 km of the bike course through memorable settings like Puerto de Ojén, ascending along the “caracolillos” road. They will cross different towns like Onda, Coín, and Cártama. Athletes will then ride back to Marbella to enjoy the last 21 km run by the seafront promenade, flanked by cheering spectators as they strive for the finish line - right on the sand of Puerto Banús.

IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella offers 50 qualifying slots for the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in South Africa, Nelson Mandela Bay.

Professionals compete for P-750 points plus $25,000 prize purse.
