Böcherer, Wild, Philipp, van Vlerken set to make a splash at 70.3 St.Pölten

Just by mastering the IRONMAN 70.3 St. Pölten course every athlete experiences the diversity of Austria - the coexistence between nature and human creation. Starting by the swimming course which leads every athlete through the two lakes of St. Pölten. Followed by the bike course on the modern freeway and through the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Wachau. Ending with the running track along the Traisen river, through the baroque old town of St. Pölten and back to the architectural masterpiece of NV Arena.

Apart the unique swimming experience the bike course of the IRONMAN 70.3 St. Pölten is the centerpiece for each athlete. On the 25-km section of the freeway S33 athletes reach up to 55 km/h, making it every cyclist's dream.

IRONMAN 70.3 St. Pölten 2017 offers 35 qualifying slots for the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee/USA.

Professionals compete for P-750 points and $25,000 prize purse.

This time, the athletes of the Olympic Distance opened the race at 08:45 am, until the starting shot was fired at 09:15 am for the pros of Challenge Half. Strong bikers dominated the sixth edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg. Thanks to a smart tactics, Swiss Manuel Kueng eventually celebrated his second win in Remich after 2015. Belgium had a great day of firsts at the 2018 ITU Antwerp World Cup, with Jelle Geens claiming the first ever victory of an ITU race on home soil to much delight of the thousands of spectators who enjoyed a day of triathlon at its best.
