IRONMAN added the HERBALIFE IRONMAN 70.3 Pucon to its global event series in 2008, and it's been one of the most popular races since. Located in southern Chile, Pucon offers a unique landscape allowing for skiing, horseback riding, rafting and canoeing throughout the year. It's a rugged, outdoorsy venue, beloved for its views of the Villarrica Volcano and steamy Palguin Hot Springs.
The race begins with a 1.2-mile, two-loop swim in the calm waters of Lake Villarrica, with its awe-inspiring volcano backdrop. Cyclists will then take on a hilly 56-mile, two-loop course with scenic lake and volcano views and challenging winds as they head back to town. The final leg is a 13.1-mile run featuring a spectator-packed course as runners go through town.
The 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 Pucon offers 35 qualifying slots for the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA.
Professionals compete for P-750 points and $25,000 prize purse.
