The XTERRA European Tour comes to a close on Sunday at XTERRA Denmark in the coastal town of Tisvilde.
Headlining the men’s pro field is Conrad Stoltz, RSA, fresh off his 50th XTERRA victory at XTERRA England last weekend. He’ll face a lineup of world-class challengers in fellow South African Dan Hugo who dominated his early season XTERRA campaign, a returned- to-form Ben Allen, AUS, and Yeray Luxem, BEL, who’s racing well after a podium finish in England last weekend.
For the women, Kathrin Mueller looks to back up her 2014 ITU Cross Tri World Championship while European stand-outs Helena Erbenova, CZE, Jacqui Slack, GBR and Carina Wasle, AUT, hope to earn valuable points toward their final tour ranking.
Pros are fighting for their share of the $15,000 USD race purse plus XTERRA European Tour points towards the final standings split of $20,000 USD to the top performers in the Series.
For amateur racers there are 41 qualifying spots into the 19th annual XTERRA World Championship in Maui this October 26.
Organizers have brought in a DJ to spin records and entertain athletes and spectators alike all day and in true XTERRA style the event weekend wraps up with a post-race BBQ party.
XTERRA Denmark Championship is the final event of 11 on the European Tour.
The XTERRA ECCO 10km Trail Run will kick-off the Championship weekend on Saturday on the same course triathletes will tackle the following day.
